Mark A. Bates
Constructivist Educator | #EdTech Mentor | UBC MET Student | Solopreneur
Although he has lived in both Nova Scotia and British Columbia, he now calls New Brunswick home. As many others, Mark and his partner – Alison – are trying to juggle the responsibilities of raising two young children under the age of five, furthering their education, and running their own separate entrepreneurial business. Among his many career paths on which to draw upon, Mark is also a constructivist educator who strongly values life-long learning. He is currently in the process of building on his two existing undergraduate degrees (B.A, Bed), by completing his Master of Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia. If interested, he invites you to visit his educational e-portfolio. Within the program, he finds the theory, practical and technical skills in the area of instructional design are having a positive impact on his work at Loyalist City Web Design.
As a solopreneur, Mark has many of the similar needs and goals that all entrepreneurs and small business owners – keeping costs as low as possible, projecting a professional image and attracting customers. It is this understanding that provides the basis for powerful collaboration and communication.
